Subject: Invitation to eTownhall webchats in January 2009
As we usher in the New Year in January, we would like to invite you to participate in two upcoming e-Townhall webchats.
1) e-Townhall webchat on Primary Education review (6 Jan 2009)
The Primary Education Review and Implementation (PERI) Committee, chaired by Senior Minister of State for Education and National Development, Ms Grace Fu, has been set up to study ways to enhance primary education in Singapore and is currently seeking the views of the public on the review.
As part of the consultation, REACH is organising an e-Townhall webchat session, which will be chaired by Mrs Grace Fu, Senior Minister of State for Ministry Development and Education on 6 January 2009 from 7.30 pm – 9.00 pm. We would like to invite you to join us in the webchat to share your views on how schools can enhance holistic learning to better prepare students for the future.
More details can be found online at http://app.reach.gov.sg/reach/Events/PRIMARYSCHOOLEDUCATIONREVIEW/tabid/149/Default.aspx
2) e-Townhall webchat on Budget 2009 (23 Jan 2009)
To bring relief to businesses and workers amidst the economic gloom, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) will announce the Budget for Financial Year 2009 on 22 January next year, instead of February as in previous years. The annual *** Budget is of significance to all Singaporeans and with the economy facing recession, public interest in the Budget is heightened this year.
In view of this, REACH will be conducting a feedback exercise immediately after the Budget announcement to gather views on how the public feels about the various measures announced in the Budget. The feedback exercise will be conducted via multiple channels such as emails, ***S (97732587), online discussion forums, e-polls, REACH Singapore Facebook Group and e-Townhall webchats, to enable Singaporeans from all sectors to share their views with us.
We would like to invite you to an e-Townhall webchat on 23 January 2009 from 8.00 pm - 9.30 pm to hear your views on the Budget.
If you would like to participate in either or both of the webchats, please fill in the reply slip attached and return it to us by 1 Jan 2009. Please note that pre-registration is required for the webchats as administration instructions will be issued to registered participants prior to the session.
We look forward to your keen participation.
Thank you and regards,
